I am Registered Clinical Counsellor and a Registered Psychotherapist. I work with adults, children, and families providing client centered, attachment focused interventions. My work is based in attachment theory, examining the relationships within your life. Your sense of belonging, and how you see yourself and the world depends greatly on your experiences in your family of origin. As a therapist and consultant, my area of focus in supporting families involves strengthening the parent child relationship. I coach parents to parent in a way that provides insight to their child's inner world while gaining an empathetic-traditional discipline strategies that just don’t work. I am also an experienced presenter on issues such as family dynamics and understanding of the meaning behind behaviour. I offer tools and strategies for assisting parents in developing relationships where children can thrive and learn. My belief in the power of empathy, and positive parenting has inspired families searching for alternatives to communication, parenting, trauma and mindfulness-based stress reduction for parents and children. I also support adult clients in making sense of their own unique attachment histories. A connected and attuned relationship with yourself, your partner, family members and your children will have a profound impact on your happiness and satisfaction in life. Therapeutic modalities utilized include cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), parent coaching, parent child play therapy, emotion focused family therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and understanding the neurobiological basis for behaviour in children.
