Carolyn Black
Counselling Therapist
Carolyn brings together experience from tourism, education, science and counselling to form the company Red Sands Therapy.
Carolyn believes in providing good service. She applies this belief about service and the importance of education to the health industry. Caring for people and treating them respectfully is important to her. As well, recognizing the whole person is part of understanding their mental & physical health. She knows each individual understands their personal journey and that this reveals the pathway to their healing. Trauma can cause chronic pain, addiction, autoimmune diseases, ADHD and learning issues. The complexity of these is disclosed through careful listening and tracing patterns back through time. Carolyn's understanding of this intricacy of healing is revealed when working with her. She holds a wealth of experience, education and continues to learn and apply her learning every day to her profession as a counselling therapist. She is curious, non judgmental and person centered.
With over 22 years pf experience in the field of counselling and over 32 years in the field of education she is skilled with a variety of therapies, choosing the best approach for each individual. She works collaboratively with each to determine their unique pathway for healing and then walks that pathway with them. She reads and studies extensively about neuroscience, TCM, alternative medicine and western medicine. Grounded in science and research yet conveyed with warmth, heart and positive caring regard, Carolyn is passionate about working with people and healing.
